Apple’s iOS update file now says August 18th for iOS 5 Beta 6

What we thought was a static file in iOS that correctly predicted the previous Saturday iOS 5 Beta 5 update turns out to be one that Apple can change remotely.  Yesterday, it changed from Wednesday August 17th to Thursday, August 18th.
We can only assume that Apple can change this on a whim so the date appears to be a target date, which we know can change.
As of this writing, the target is in a week.  We’ll keep you updated.

Fake Apple iPhone 5 Website 'Leak' Video

This video has been circulating for a few days and all the bloggers avoided to post it in their blogs because it was a clear fake but now they have posted the video only to try to avoid ongoing submissions about it. TUAW did their own debunking of the video, but the clearest evidence is that the first frame of the video shows all the pages were loaded off the creator's hard drive before the Apple urls were edited in.

The other strong evidence is that while public Apple website leaks have hapened in the past, it's not something that only one person with a screen capture program happens to see. A mistake like that spreads, and fast.
